Fabiola Urgel and Maria Martin volunteered as Loaned Executives in 2021 and did an outstanding job coordinating the Vantage Bank Campaign. Vantage Bank employees are committed to partnerships that improve the quality of lives in our community. They contribute financially to United Way of South Texas and also volunteer throughout the year. Hundreds of Vantage Bank employees have volunteered as Shopping Buddies for middle school students in United Way’s Back to School “In Style” Shopping Spree for over fifteen years. They also participate in Day of Caring events. These two programs collectively impact 3,450 local Middle School and High School students annually. Counselors select eligible students to participate in the Shopping Spree, who receive school attire, personal hygiene items and school supplies. United Way’s Day of Caring project provides school supplies to eligible Freshmen at select districts. Vantage Bank team members participate in many other functions of the United Way, including the annual program and financial review of partner agencies.

“United Way continues to impact every fabric of the community, Vantage Bank employees continue to give generously of their time, talents and paychecks,” Vice President of Vantage Bank and UW Board Member, Cris Moncayo said. “On their behalf, we proudly accept this recognition as a United Way Top 10 Company.”

The generous donations from Vantage Bank employees help over 188,500 residents in Hidalgo and Starr Counties. Their support will fund programs including emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and the homeless; after school, youth leadership and homework assistance programs for children; end-of-life care services; advocates for children in foster care; free income tax preparation services for families who earn $60,000 a year or less and much more.
