United Way of South Texas (serving Hidalgo and Starr Counties) serves our community through the following focus areas.
Education
United Way of South Texas works with local partners to ensure that students in our community have the school supplies, clothes, personal hygiene products and more to succeed in school.
Health
United Way of South Texas offers many health resources to the community including substance abuse counseling, counseling for families affected by domestic violence, prescription discount cards, pre-natal education and much more.
Financial Stability
United Way of South Texas provides services to promote financial stability in our community. These services include budget counseling, job training and placement, rent and mortgage assistance and many more.
Safety Net
United Way established the Information and Referral Program in the RGV. 211 is the nationwide service for non-emergency life challenges. The kind everyone faces at some point in their lives, when you have no idea where to turn but sure could use some extra help.
