United Way of South Texas recognizes HEB as the #1 Company in Employee Contributions

United Way of South Texas recognizes HEB as the #1 Company in Employee Contributions

United Way volunteers celebrated community service and Campaign accomplishments at an H-E-B Appreciation Luncheon held at the McAllen Country Club. Board Members, Alma Ortega-Johnson, Wells Fargo, Tyler Stone, Mayfair Properties and Edna Garcia, Security Service Federal Credit Union thanked all H-E-B Campaign Coordinators for their support and commitment to community service. H-E-B was presented with the #1 Company Award. The average participation at each location was 80% and over 3,600 H-E-B partners contributed over $500,000 to support critical social services in Hidalgo and Starr Counties. The H-E-B Campaign was coordinated by Richard Escalera and store Administrative Assistants. His efforts were supported at every level, from leadership management at the Regional Office, to the Managers and Partners at each store location. Laura Gump, General Manager to the Border Region, discussed H.E.B.’s commitment to the community and the positive impact it makes in the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals as a result of their generosity. Campaign Employee participants were from the Regional office, Weslaco Distribution and Transportation Centers, HEB Credit Union and stores in Mercedes, Weslaco, Elsa, Donna, Alamo, San Juan, Pharr, Edinburg, McAllen, Mission, Palmhurst, Palmview and Rio Grande City. The United Way of South Texas provides funding to over 24 non-profit agencies including Palmer Drug Abuse Program, The Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Clubs and Community Council of the RGV “211”.
