United Way recognizes Superior HealthPlan as “Top 10 Company”

The United Way Board of Directors proudly recognizes Superior HealthPlan as a “Top 10” Company Supporter. Superior HealhPlan employees contributed $34,500 to United Way of South Texas during the 2021 Campaign.

Maria Cavazos, Superior HealthPlan, Community Ambassador, was instrumental in educating employees about United Way funded programs throughout Hidalgo and Starr Counties. Superior has been a proud supporter of United Way for many years; their commitment continues to grow as they learn about their positive impact on local families.

“We’re honored to be granted the award for the outstanding contributions from the 2021 United Way Campaign,” Maria Cavazos said. “Superior employees showed up in a big way for South Texas and we’re honored to be recognized.”

The generous donations from Superior HealthPlan employees helped over 178,500 residents in Hidalgo & Starr Counties. United Way funds programs that include emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and for the homeless; after school, youth leadership and homework assistance programs for children; end-of-life care services; advocates for children in foster care; free income tax preparation services for families who earn $60,000 a year or less; assistance for families affected by natural disasters and single home fires, and much more.

The United Way Board of Directors extends their deepest appreciation to all Superior HealthPlan employees and everyone who invests in United Way of South Texas for their continued support.
