United Way of South Texas Board Members Demonstrate Outstanding Commitment

MCALLEN, TEXAS – JANUARY 5, 2022 – United Way of South Texas is proud to have a passionate Board of Directors that ensures both the delivery of health and human services to families and individuals with critical needs, and guarantees a high level of accountability and transparency. The staff, partner agencies and volunteers who participate in community education, fundraising, review agency applications and/or deliver direct services, are all held accountable by the Board of Directors. As the most engaged group of United Way volunteers and ambassadors in our community, Board Members receive recognition for their participation in annual events. They serve on teams and aim to outperform each other as a positive way to challenge themselves. The Board proudly acknowledged and presented a winning trophy to Strategic Planning Co-Chair Edna Garcia, Community Relations Co-Chair Dr. D’Uandre Drain and Finance Co-Chair Larry Gonzalez, for their exceptional level of engagement in 2021. The three members participated in 360 United Way events throughout the year, including campaign presentations, committee meetings and spearheading key initiatives. United Way President, Lilly Lopez-Killelea, thanks the entire Board for their commitment and proudly announces that members have collectively achieved 1,351 community volunteer activities.
